Datuk Hamirullah Boorhan - Chairman (Independent)
Datuk Hamirullah Boorhan was appointed to the Board of Directors of Pheim Asset Management Sdn Bhd as Chairman and Independent Director.
He brings close to four decades of experience in banking and financial services, with strong expertise in retail banking, SME banking, wealth management, Islamic banking, digital transformation, risk governance and sustainability. He was formerly Senior Executive Vice-President and Head of Community Financial Services Malaysia at Maybank, where he led a major consumer and SME banking franchise covering consumer banking, SME banking, wealth management and Islamic financial services.
Throughout his career, he has played a key role in driving business growth, strengthening customer propositions, advancing digital banking adoption and supporting sustainable finance initiatives. He has also served on various risk, technology, sustainability and governance committees, bringing broad board-level experience across strategy, oversight and responsible finance.
Datuk Hamirullah holds a Master of Business Administration from the International Islamic University Malaysia and a Diploma in Accountancy from Institut Teknologi MARA. He has also completed executive programmes at Harvard Business School, INSEAD and Wharton, and is a Fellow of the International Retail Banker.
Mr. Lee Heng Keng (Independent Director)
Mr. Lee Heng Keng was appointed to the Board of Directors of Pheim Asset Management Sdn Bhd as an Independent Director.
He brings over 30 years of experience in financial services, with strong expertise in corporate banking, investment banking, corporate finance, credit risk, asset quality management, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. He has held senior leadership roles within CIMB Group, including Regional Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Corporate Banking Malaysia, where he oversaw corporate banking operations, portfolio growth, credit risk management and governance across Malaysia and regional markets.
His experience spans cross-border corporate banking, investment banking transactions, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets advisory, restructuring and stakeholder engagement across ASEAN. He has also served on key governance and risk committees, providing oversight on credit risk, asset quality, regulatory compliance and risk management frameworks.
Mr. Lee is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
Dato’ Paduka Syed Mashafuddin Syed Badarudin Jamalullail (Non-Independent Director)
Dato’ Paduka Syed Mashafuddin Syed Badarudin Jamalullail was appointed to the Board of Directors of Pheim Asset Management Sdn Bhd as a Non-Independent Director.
He brings extensive experience in Islamic banking, asset management, investment banking, corporate finance, sustainable finance and value-based intermediation. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of AFFIN Islamic Bank Berhad, where he leads the Bank’s Shariah-compliant financial solutions for retail, corporate, institutional and small and medium-sized enterprise customers.
Prior to AFFIN Islamic, he held senior leadership roles in asset management and investment banking, including Chief Executive Officer of Principal Islamic Asset Management, Head of International and Institutional Business at CIMB-Principal Asset Management and Managing Director, Investment Banking at CIMB Investment Bank Berhad.
Dato’ Paduka Syed Mashafuddin holds a Joint Honours Degree in Computer Science and Accounting from the University of Manchester and a Master of Science in International Banking from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, United Kingdom. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance and Chartered Banker.
Mr. Lee Ta Wei (Non-Independent Director)
Mr. Lee Ta Wei was appointed to the Board of Directors of Pheim Asset Management Sdn Bhd as a Non-Independent Director. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Pheim Asset Management Sdn Bhd.
He has more than 10 years of experience in the capital markets and fund management industry, with expertise in equity research, portfolio management, unit trusts, insurance investment-linked funds, EPF-related mandates and private mandates.
Prior to his current appointment, he served as a Portfolio Manager at Manulife Investment Management, where he managed unit trusts and insurance investment-linked investment funds. He previously served with Pheim Asset Management as an Investment Analyst and Fund Manager, where he was involved in equity research and the management of various investment mandates.
Mr. Lee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2017.
